1. Who we are

Heritail is a service provided by Gabriele Ruiz, reachable at gabrieleruiz.dev@gmail.com.

2. Eligibility

To use Heritail you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • provide truthful, up-to-date information about yourself and your pets;
  • only list pets you own or are legally responsible for;
  • use a single personal account and keep your access secure.

3. The service

Heritail helps dog and cat owners get in touch to evaluate a possible mating. In the "Litters" showcase, users on the Breeder plan can also present their litters, and other users can write to them.

Heritail is not a party to agreements between users, does not organise meetings, takes no part in the handover of animals and does not guarantee users' identity, the health of pets or of their offspring, or the outcome of a mating. Always evaluate carefully, meet the other person in a safe place and ask your vet for advice.

4. "Document checked" badge

The "Document checked" badge only means that the document uploaded by the owner was examined by an automated artificial intelligence system and that the data read was consistent with the pet's profile.

The badge is NOT an official certification and is not issued, approved or recognised by ENCI, ANFI or any other registry, studbook or organisation. The automated check can make mistakes and does not guarantee the authenticity of the document or the pet's pedigree.

After a match, or in a conversation started from a litter, you can ask the other person to share the registration number and check it yourself on the registry's official website. The badge may be suspended following reports.

5. Rehoming animals: only in the showcase

Presenting litters and agreeing on their handover is allowed only in the "Litters" showcase and in the conversations that start from it. Only users with an active Breeder plan may publish litters. Everywhere else in the app (pet profiles, photos, match chats) you may not offer, sell, transfer or give away animals.

If you publish a litter you agree to:

  • publish only your own litters, born to or expected from a female you own or are legally responsible for, with truthful information and photos;
  • not state prices in the listing and not ask for deposits or payments before the interested person has seen the puppies or kittens and their mother in person;
  • hand over the animals only in compliance with the law: not before 60 days of age, microchipped and registered, with the required health documentation;
  • not present animals without a pedigree as purebred;
  • comply with the obligations, including tax and licensing obligations, that apply to your activity.

Heritail is not a party to the agreement between the breeder and the interested person: it does not collect, hold or guarantee payments, does not check the animals and takes no part in the handover. Price, conditions and documents are agreed privately and remain the sole responsibility of the parties. Agreements about a mating are likewise the sole responsibility of the users and must comply with the law, including tax law.

When the Breeder plan expires, litters leave the showcase; conversations already open remain.

6. Responsible breeding and animal welfare

By using Heritail you agree to:

  • only mate adult, healthy, vaccinated animals that have had the veterinary checks and health tests recommended for their breed;
  • never mate close relatives (for example parents and offspring, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren);
  • respect minimum age, pregnancy frequency and your vet's advice;
  • comply with local laws, including rules on pet registration and microchipping, breeding, transfer of puppies/kittens and restricted breeds;
  • never put animals' health or welfare at risk.

We may remove profiles or accounts that break these rules and report animal abuse to the competent authorities.

7. User content and moderation

You are responsible for the texts, photos and documents you publish. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, limited to the life of your account, to show them to other users within the service.

You may not publish false, offensive, violent or sexually explicit content, content showing people without their consent, or content that infringes third-party rights. Photos are automatically checked before publication. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these terms.

8. Reports and blocks

You can report profiles, pets, litters, photos and messages (for example fake pedigrees, inappropriate content, scams, harassment, animal abuse or selling animals outside the showcase) and block other users at any time. We review reports and may take automatic measures, such as suspending a badge or removing a litter from the showcase after multiple reports.

9. Subscriptions and purchases

Heritail is free with some limits (for example 20 likes per day) and shows ads. The Premium and Breeder subscriptions are purchased through the App Store or Google Play, renew automatically and can be cancelled at any time in your store settings, at least 24 hours before renewal. Refunds follow Apple's or Google's rules. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Plan prices and features may change, with notice for active subscriptions.

The Breeder subscription gives access to the litter showcase: it is not a commission on handovers and does not guarantee contacts or handovers.

10. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for users' behaviour, agreements between users, including handovers arranged through the showcase, the accuracy of published litters, the health of animals or their offspring, or temporary service interruptions. Mandatory consumer rights and liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence remain unaffected.

11. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, informing you when possible.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the courts of the consumer's place of residence or domicile have jurisdiction.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; for significant changes we will notify you in the app. For questions write to gabrieleruiz.dev@gmail.com.
